Why do people need to meditate?
Physical exercise is essential to keep ourselves physically fit. So also we have to meditate to refresh and recharge ourselves. We can live without meditation but our ability to empathize becomes Tina, a project you follow has a new commentweaker and, as a result, we become more mechanical, self-centered and selfish. Without meditatiTina, a project you follow has a new commenton you will never know how deep and special you truly are.
What does Arka Dhyana mean?
The term Dhyana is used as there is no other alternative term in English that can convey the total significance of Dhyana. It is a Sanskrit term that cannot be translated exactly as meditation since Dhyana has a much deeper meaning. Arka is a Sanskrit term that means the Sun. The two terms are put together to convey the unique nature of this meditational method.
What is Consciousness?
Consciousness, energy, matter, time, space. This is everything. Is there any entity or element that is not comprised of or bound by these things? Only consciousness embraces all of these things; therefore you can think of consciousness as the ultimate superior unit or that everything is merely a part of it. Consciousness recognizes itself and distinguishes itself from space, matter, time and energy.
Consciousness is life and life is consciousness. Consciousness experiences pain and pleasure only through matter. Consciousness acquires experiences and eventually aims to achieve enlightenment in the mind, which is simply an extension of it. When that consciousness dissolves, it will merge with the universal consciousness. Without consciousness an entity cannot exist in the cosmos. We have life because we have consciousness and we are conscious of our existence. Since we do not see biological activities and responses in non-living entities, we consider them purely non-conscious or non-living. However non-living entities have subtle consciousness in them.
When you go to the depth of any entity at the microscopic or macrocosmic level, you encounter intelligence, consciousness. That is why you see some built-in guidance or a kind of energy of information in them.
Fortunately we humans are separated from most living conscious species with the unique feature of being able to raise our awareness.
What is Awareness?
Awareness is the effect of consciousness. If consciousness were a flower, awareness would be its fragrance and the brain would be the stem. You can cultivate awareness over a period of time by willfully allowing it to flow or to work in a specific direction and can thus increase your knowledge of a subject
Everyone has the potential to raise their awareness in any field they desire. Sometimes they develop it on their own through inspiration or by education, or they may be motivated or helped to progress by someone who has already raised their awareness. There is currently a trend to increase awareness of health, the environment and spirituality.
What is Conscious Awareness?
Conscious awareness takes one to an even deeper level. It is not just a matter of raising awareness intellectually through knowledge. Here you raise your awareness emotionally and with the full involvement of your deeper mind prevailing in the heart region. In this process you gain more energy, wisdom, direction and evolve quicker. It is not logically explainable but is able to be experienced mystically – an inner reality which has the potential to become an outside reality.
Some people may be conscious but are not effectively aware of their presence. Some are aware on the surface but not consciously aware because their emotional heart is not involved. Raising conscious awareness can be long lasting. Raising awareness merely on a certain issue of life may not be sustained for long, as it needs to be nursed from time to time. Even the earth has consciousness, so it is enormously conscious of its orbital movement and its life, resources and destination, with many reactions and expressions.
